Frequently asked questions

We are working diligently to launch the Rayo Beta Program in the next few weeks. If you’d like to keep up to date with all the latest Rayo news and launch timing, please join the waitlist on our website.

Our mission and services are borderless, but we are located in the financial district in San Francisco, California.

Here at Rayo (pronounced rye-O), we’ve developed the total banking experience for expats, immigrants, explorers and the like. Rayo means “thunderbolt” in Spanish and is a direct reflection of our continued mission to provide shockingly fast, powerful and secure banking services to those who live their lives just as unexpectedly and quickly.

Financial access shouldn’t keep you from your dream or your destination. Rayo has developed comprehensive banking products and services to help you before, during, and after your move. Open a U.S. bank account with Rayo before leaving your home country and enjoy access to the Rayo Knowledge Base to answer all those stressful moving questions. While in the U.S., gain full access to hassle-free international transfers, simple access to credit, and inclusive saving options.

Rayo is here for you, so your financial well-being isn’t left up to chance.

We will publish our fee schedule for our products and services when Rayo launches. A Truth in Savings Act document will also be published so there is complete and unconditional transparency with all of our fees. We value our members’ and their hard work, that’s why Rayo is committed to providing a clear fee schedule that encourages your financial prosperity.

The Rayo community is more than just customers. We’re brought together through shared experiences, struggles, and exploration, which is particularly true for our Founding Members, the members that recognized Rayo’s potential from the very beginning and joined us before the product launched. Founding Members help define Rayo features and services that deliver the most substantial value to all of our members.

They continue to support us, so it’s only fitting that we continue to support them – all Founding Members will receive reduced or no-fee transfers with special edition debit cards and exclusive marketplace offers. If you’d like to become a Founding Member, you still have time to join our waitlist and help us build the next generation of global banking.

Only the first 2,000 waitlisters who open an account will receive Rayo Founding Member status.

For Founding member benefits, please see our fee schedule for details.

The Rayo app is available in the Apple App and Google Play stores. If you are on the waitlist, you’ll receive an invite code to download the app and open an account during the Beta period.

When you sign up for a Rayo account, we will ask for personal identification information and other documents like a valid government-issued ID or passport and visa to verify your identity. Our approval process helps us determine your eligibility for a Rayo account and follows federal banking regulations. A complete list of requirements is available in our Terms and Conditions.

Absolutely! We even suggest it. Reduce travel stress by knowing you have a secure and global bank at your fingertips. Just remember, eligibility is dependent on the consideration of the specific circumstances regarding your move to the U.S. and the necessary supporting documentation, like your passport and stamped work visa.
